<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Recommendations are towards beginning with a plan. By setting a plan with a goal linked to a realistic time scale, it will ensure you stick to your workout plan and don't give up too easily. The thought of achieving your targets will drive you to intensify your work out, therefore leading to better results.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Additionally, with the internet acting as a resource unmatched in today's society, there are plenty of forums, blogs and companies willing to guide you to the best ways for you to get fit. Although caution must be given to those companies only out to sell their products, there are plenty of resources readily available for free and not all people are out to make a profit from your questions.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Once you have set yourself out a plan, the next step is to choose how you will reach that goal. Today there is a plethora of new and innovative ways to get fit. With technology constantly changing, you can now utilise mobile apps, computer games, many tangible fitness devices and even just general household items. With so much choice the decision can be a difficult one, however, gain advice from industry professionals or have a look at other customer reviews before purchasing your exercise aid.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Complementary to utilising devices, the popularity of activities such as Zumba, Yoga and Pilates over the past few years shows that exercise can be fun, calming and good for more than just your waistline. The health benefits of keeping fit are obvious throughout the world and with obesity rates becoming a real concern, the pressure has increased on getting people moving more often. Consequently gym memberships will usually see peaks during the beginning of the New Year.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Welsh news website Wales Online, have highlighted that gyms will be at their premium price brackets in this annual period with the masses of post-Christmas weight gains proving enough encouragement to get fit. The Daily Mail has highlighted that on average the typical person in Britain will consume 38,000 calories and gain up to 6lbs in weight, which is to the joy of the gym companies that reap the rewards of the overindulging public. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
But either way, to get fit as fast as possible, a trip to the gym is not enough. It is advised to make changes to your diet, your daily activity as well as your mind-set in order to shed the pounds as quickly as possible.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Furthermore, never forget that even when you reach your ideal body, health and fitness is for the long term, so maintaining your health and ideal body will take determination and a commitment to bettering your life. Try out different fitness methods and work out which one will match you best. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
There is no one size fits all so it's often the case that trials need to be implemented on a range of exercising techniques before you find the one that provides you with the best results. Just always keep in mind that exercising should be fun as well as beneficial, this way you will be more likely to work out and it will last longer than a short term phase.</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
I started learning about alkaline forming foods several years ago when I was introduced to the raw living foods lifestyle. We can either eat alkaline or acid causing foods. When we consume alkaline foods, it helps maintain a proper acid-alkaline balance in the body, and leads to supporting a powerful immune system. Alkaline and acide forming foods will be reviewed to give you some direction on how to shift what you consume in your daily diet, thereby preventing disease.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
The Standard American Diet often consists of all meats, including fish, poultry and eggs. This is often accompanied with the consumption of dairy products such as cheese, and milk, along with breads for breakfast or lunch. Dinner may include pasta or noodles. All of these items are acid forming foods, which includes most legumes. White sugar found in many pastries and baked goods, or added to tea or coffee, is also detrimental to maintaining a proper ph balance in the body.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Some better food options that will alkalize your body include: most raw vegetables and fruits. Incorporating avocados into a daily salad is one good way to transition into a meal that still leaves you full. Sprouts which includes sprouted legumes or whole grains can be added to smoothies or a salad dish. It is possible to purchase sprouts in one of the natural food markets or you are welcome to grow sprouts at home.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
In terms of consuming liquids, I would suggest:</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<ul style="margin: 0px 0px 1em 2em; padding: 0px;">
<li style="line-height: 1.5em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">regular juicing of raw vegetables that makes green juice</li>
<li style="line-height: 1.5em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">wheatgrass juice</li>
<li style="line-height: 1.5em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">herbal teas</li>
</ul>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
A regular juicer is useful for juicing, but a Vitamix is also handy to keep the bulk of the vegetable in a drink. Spices can also be added to the mixture to give the juice some flavour. I often add ginger to my juices. Herbal teas are also great for a hot drink. I sometimes, add agave or raw honey as a sweetner for my teas.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
For snacks, I would suggest either soaked or sprouted nuts. Almonds, hazelnuts, or brazilnuts are great. Sprouted seeds are some of my favorites that include sunflower sprouts. I usually add sunflower sprouts to my salads or smoothies.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
For main staples, and instead of pasta or noodles, I would suggest using millet or quinoa, which are excellent sources for an alkaline focused diet.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Incorporating enzyme supplements is another great way to alkalize the body. I have been taking enzyme supplements for almost 4 years now and find it useful for digestion. Enzyme supplements are essential when you eat cooked food. Natural enzymes are released when raw food is consumed as part of a completely living raw foods lifestyle.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
I think if you can make the small changes mentioned above, and have 80% of the food eaten produce alklaine compounds when digested, you are in a good position to maintain health and vitality. Keep 20% of what you consume to be the acid-forming foods. Following this will ensure longevity and complete well being.</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Although obesity and other weight-related problems are more pronounced in adults, it also has a serious impact on children. According to a recent survey, in the United States, one out of every five children is overweight or obese, and this number is rising. Obesity provides several disadvantages for the children, exposing them to the risk of developing chronic diseases and diabetes later in life. The child may also suffer from depression, stress, and low-esteem.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Obesity can be caused due to several factors. The most common factors are unhealthy eating pattern, genetic factors, lack of physical exercises, or a combination of these factors.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Obese kids are more prone to a number of physical conditions, which includes:</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<ul style="margin: 0px 0px 1em 2em; padding: 0px;">
<li style="line-height: 1.5em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><strong>High cholesterol</strong>: Children can have high amount of cholesterol in their body, which can show its pronounced effect when the child gets older. Too much of cholesterol leads to the build up of plaque which clogs the arteries and blood vessels, leading to serious chronic problems as the child gets older.</li>
<br />
<li style="line-height: 1.5em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><strong>Early heart disease</strong>: Early heart diseases can include <em>arrhythmias</em> (abnormal heart beats), a disease of the cardiac muscle, valves, blood vessels etc. It can even lead to heart attacks. The child suffering from this problem can experience chest pain, or a feeling like heartburn or indigestion.</li>
<br />
<li style="line-height: 1.5em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><strong>Bone problems</strong>: Obesity results in large number of bone problems both for the old and for the young. The child suffers from severe pain in the foot along with many other developmental disorders which gets more pronounced with age. Some of the bone defects associated with obesity are Flat feet, Misalignment of the knees, Osteoarthritis, Deformities of the hip and bowed lower legs.</li>
</ul>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
In order to fight against obesity, weight loss is very important. Preparing a good diet chart for an obese child is very crucial, because improper dieting in the case of children can be detrimental to their health. To help an obese child to loose weight parents should take care of the two most important factors:</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<ul style="margin: 0px 0px 1em 2em; padding: 0px;">
<li style="line-height: 1.5em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><strong>Selection of the right type of food</strong> - For weight loss, obese children must avoid junk food or fatty food and instead they should consume healthy vegetables and fruits. They should properly chew the food to avoid indigestion. Rather than eating three large meals, obese children can go for six small meals. Eating in excess amount should also be avoided.</li>
<br />
<li style="line-height: 1.5em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><strong>Proper exercises</strong> - the right type of exercises can help in weight loss. If obese children exercise on a regular basis they can surely see positive results after a certain period of time.</li>
</ul>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
</div>
</div>
<div id="article-resource" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<br /></div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
One reason for sourcing your health foods from whole food stores is that they care about your health. These grocery outlets stock items of superior nutritional value. Organic and natural foods contain less or no toxins which would otherwise be detrimental to human health.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Whole foods are foods that are in their natural state. They are unprocessed and mostly organic. Foods that are packaged with preservatives or those that have been modified in some way away from their original state cease to be whole foods. Unpolished cereal grains, fruit, vegetables and fresh milk products are all examples of whole foods. Retailers and wholesalers of these foods are termed whole food stores. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Reputable stores are dedicated to provide you with the best quality healthy foods, along with being environmentally friendly. They are keen on using things which are biodegradable. Whole food stores are the smart solution for anyone needing healthy food options.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
One reason for sourcing your health foods from whole food stores is that they care about your health. These grocery outlets stock items of superior nutritional value. Organic and natural foods contain less or no toxins which would otherwise be detrimental to human health. It is well known that the modifications made to foods such as homogenization, preservation, polishing and such alterations undermine the original value of that food. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
When consumed overtime, these foods can have adverse effects on the body. However, acquiring items from whole food stores ensures that you only consume certified, high quality and natural foods that guarantee good health.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Whole food stores are environmentally friendly and it is for this reason that you should buy items there. Because the foods are rarely packaged (and if so, biodegradable materials like paper are used) the problem of contaminating the environment with harmful toxic waste is eliminated. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Packaging materials such as plastic polythene bags, when poorly disposed of, create an environmental hazard. Whole food stores remove this problem and emphasize their green footprint by not packaging, using organic packaging materials (if they must package) or insisting on reusing shopping bags. This ensures that the environment is spared of any kind of contamination. Waste from whole food stores is easily, safely and naturally broken down without affecting the ecosystem.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Advice on the best health food solutions is also offered at whole food stores. Often, people do not know exactly what they need for their bodies. And shopping at a whole food store would be meaningless if you did not have the proper information about what you really need for your body. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Not everything acquired from a whole food store is necessarily what you need. At whole food stores, there are specialists whose job is to provide the relevant advice to customers who need it. And with regular commodity reviews, you will be sure to get the highest quality foods from whole food stores. Certification seals are normally attached to almost all items in these stores.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
A whole food store also gives back to the community in a number of ways. A shopper may take pride in shopping at a local store that is just not all about profit maximization but has the community's best interests as part of its brand values. The mere fact that whole food stores use biodegradable materials for packaging (that is if they must package at all) means that the community is spared of environmentally harmful litter. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Emphasis by whole food stores is often put on recycling and reusing items which translates into affirmative action towards the community. Some whole food stores also donate items to individuals and institutions as part of their social responsibility.</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
What is a Pedometer? Well, everyone should already know what a timer or a stop-watch is. However, the term "Pedometer" might sound a little unfamiliar. A pedometer is an electronic device that counts every step a person takes by first detecting the motion of a person's hip or perhaps the bottom to be a little accurate. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Most pedometers are used to increase a person's physical activity and help increase the effectiveness of workouts. Pedometers are great electronic devices where they contain amazing mechanical parts that run the electric circuit, turning it on and off. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Recording the amount of steps an individual takes can be very difficult especially when recording individuals who bike or run. Fitness efficiency can be improved by recording speed and motion data of individuals during their workouts. Weight loss for healthy benefits and body balance can be promoted through the use of pedometers. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
These electronic devices are becoming more and more popular these days as more and more individuals are encouraged to keep themselves and their bodies physically fit. Pedometers measures accurately the amount of steps a person takes the exact amount of turns the bike rides, and the absolute seconds or minutes an individual runs from one point to another.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Pedometers are often used by physical therapists, physical fitness professors, physical education professors, and even common individuals who are greatly concerned about their physical health. Increasing physical activities and body's balance through physical exercises will motivate and encourage both mental and physical health to all individuals from young to aged individuals. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Pedometers have helped improve individuals with their speed efficiency and have developed numbers of skills in relation to speed in sports as well as physical activities. Pedometers vary in size and features. The following paragraph will further explain about types of pedometers and their uses.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Types of Pedometers</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Pedometers come in various types where their rate of accuracy, design, and positioning is different from each other. Common pedometers often come in the size of normal credit cards or name cards. However, there are those with specialties and come in larger sizes.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
A pedometer often performs similar functions though designs and the positioning of the devices are different. Despite its size, a pedometer is indeed a great motivator of physical exercises and activities. The recorded data can be saved for several days or even for weeks to be able to refer to the data and track improvements. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Pedometers motivate individuals to strive more and increase the amount of physical they perform daily or weekly. Individuals with set goals can achieve their goals faster with hand-sized pedometers in their jogging pants.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
How do you choose the best pedometer for you?</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Pedometers often have common features despite its designs. However, individuals often refer to the prize of the products, imagining it would be parallel to the quality of the products. Pedometers do not have to necessarily be expensive to be excellent. Individuals must choose pedometers that fit themselves and their lifestyles best. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Know first the goals then choose the best product. Always remember to look first at yourself, determine your goals, and choose the item that best fits you and those that will probably lets you achieve your goals successfully.</div>

<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">

Omega3s also have the ability to pull out fat from storage, particularly the hips, and use it as energy. Omega3s helps to keep you healthy and your skin radiant. Experts suggest that you have at least 2 grams of Omega3 fatty acids every day. Have plenty of fatty fish, like salmon and also walnuts. If you aren't getting enough omega3 fatty acids from your diet, consider having fish oil supplements.</div>

Choose any form of exercise that you enjoy most, be it running, swimming, cycling or dancing.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">

A glass of pomegranate juice helps to lower blood pressure and cholesterol and help reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease. It also helps prevent some forms of cancer. It also protects the skin from damage caused by UV rays.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">

If So, What Type? How Many?<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">I sometimes hear from people who are wondering about a specific food that
they hope isn't going to be off of limits once they begin the Medifast diet.
Believe it or not, I get asked about olives relatively frequently. A common
concern would be something like: "I love olives. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">They are one of my favorite foods. I eat them with salads a lot of the time
and I sometimes have them with eggs. I really want to try the Medifast diet,
but I don't want to give up my olives. Are they allowed on this diet?"<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Actually, my understanding is that they are. But they count as a fat. And
you aren't supposed to have an unlimited amount of them. It works this way. In
addition to eating five diet meals, you need to eat one larger "lean and
green" meal each day. That meal consists of five to seven ounces of lean
protein, three servings of vegetables, and two servings of healthy fats. 5 - 10
green or black olives are considered to be worth one serving of a healthy fat.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">So let's say that the person who asked this question wanted to have olives
as part of a salad as was her habit. If she were making a dinner time lean and
green meal, she could have a chicken salad with 5 -10 olives as well as some
salad dressing. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">This would put her within those two allowed fat servings. Another thing to
consider is that you don't have to your lean and green meal at dinner. You can
have it for any of the main meals. So there was nothing wrong with having eggs
and olives for your lean and green meal either. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">If you were going to do this, you would be allowed to have up to 14 egg
whites or two cups of egg beaters. She could also have 10 - 20 olives because
she didn't need salad dressing and could use both servings of fats. She would
still have three servings of vegetables left so she could actually make this
into an omelet if this idea appealed to her. Perhaps spinach, white mushrooms,
peppers mixed in with the eggs and olives would be a nice option. As you may be
able to tell, your lean and green meal is meant to be somewhat substantial. It
will definitely be your largest meal of the day.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">But to answer the question posed, yes you can have olives on Medifast when
you eat your lean and green meal and they will count as one of the two healthy
fats that are allowed with this meal. Olives are one of those foods like nuts
that people suspect won't be allowed on the diet. But many are pleasantly
surprised when they find out that they in fact are.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">I sometimes hear from people who don't intend to do any exercise on the
Nutrisystem diet but who are still hoping to lose a reasonable amount of
weight. And sometimes, it is not because these individuals don't want to
exercise, it is because they have some limitations that prevents this type of
physical activity.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">I heard from someone who said: "last month, I severely broke my leg. I
am going to be in a cast for a couple of months, so exercise is out of the
question. I've needed to lose about twenty pounds for quite some time, but ever
since I've been even more inactive because of my leg, I've put on even more
weight. I'm interested in starting Nutrisystem. But I am worried that I won't
be successful since I can't work out. Is this a realistic worry? Can you lose
weight on Nutrisystem without exercise?" I will answer this question
below.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Although I do know of people who have had a good deal of success on this
diet without exercise, I don't want to rely on this in my answer. Instead, I
want to take a look at some numbers in order to prove my point. Most people
know that saving 3,500 calories over a period of time means that you will lose
one pound. And yes, this calculation is without taking in any exercise into
account.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">So, if you consider that with Nutrisystem, you average around 1,200
calories per day, you can use this to get an estimate as to how many calories
you might be saving. First though, you'd need a rough estimate of how many
calories you take in when you are not dieting. This is a question that I could
not answer, but I can take a guess. To make this easy, I will use a figure from
a 2003 USDA (United States Department Of Agriculture) survey which indicated
that the average person consumes about 2,700 calories per day. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Since this figure is an average that includes both men and women, I'll
lower it a little bit since there was a woman in question. I'll use a figure of
2,300 pounds per day which is conservative. So, if you are taking in an average
of around 1,200 calories on the diet, that saves you about 1,100 calories per
day. But to make these calculations easy (and to give you a little wiggle room,)
let's round that to 1,000 calories per day saved.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Over the course of a week, that's a savings of 7,000 calories or about two
pounds. A weekly two pounds weight loss is the equivalent of about eight pounds
per month, or about 96 pounds per year. In this case, a twenty pound weight
loss would not be at all unreasonable at that rate. And once her leg healed,
she could always add in some light exercise. Even walking would help. Remember
that any additional calories that you burn with even light exercise will count
toward the calorie deficit that contributes to weight loss.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Of course, common sense tells you that results vary depending on the person
and the compliance, but I think that it is possible to get decent results on
Nutrisystem if you can't exercise, although common sense would tell you that
exercise might mean quicker results.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Why do we constantly think about food? The many and varied fast food
outlets available, may easily give you an appetite and the encouragement to
walk in for a dose of fatty junk food! However, instead of putting on more
weight, what about spending time in your own kitchen cooking a wholesome
healthy nutritious meal and saving money?<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Eating food- to-go on a regular basis is a habit for many people. It is a
wonderful and convenient means of getting added weight in a hurry. This for a
large number of people, one of the reasons to be overweight and rid about
self-pride and caring how they look to others!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Fast food is for them a tasty escape into pleasurable self-indulgence. One
excuse is that time is precious and they are in a hurry keeping up today's fast
lifestyle and little time to relax. Looking at the size of some
"fast-fooders" rushing anywhere is impossible.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Loneliness and low self-esteem is often one of the reasons for eating
chips, cakes and chocolates. It is a boost for the morale and offers a great
feeling of companionship and sharing with all the other burger cravers.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Alone and craving company, builds a need for compensation for the feeling
of isolation when boxed in four walls without a soul to talk to. Sugary food,
chocolates, cakes and the biggest burger make up for it; for a short time!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Munching like this with regularity instead of only an occasional binge adds
on many unwanted pounds to your figure. Nevertheless, why worry when you have
so much company in your nearest fast food joint! It is so easy to put on the
weight, but it is very difficult to lose.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Another factor is stress related food- craving. When stressed out the need
for relief often motivates people to the fridge to grab whatever they can find;
any time of the day or night. The habit is easy to get into and more convenient
than only eating at regular mealtimes.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">It is also a recognised fact that snacking before a meal increases your
appetite rather than suppressing it.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Genetics also play a role in some people's fat content. If your ancestors
were on the large size, then automatically so will you have the tendency to become

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">With so much of the population waddling about protruding large quantities
of excess fat, the question does arise as to whether this is the latest fashion
for men and women. The skinny 'twiggy' look is definitely out. So, is the gross
'fatty' look the "in thing"?<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 9.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: FR;">Being overweight or obese does increase chronic disease risk. Diabetes,
heart disease and forms of cancer are among the most common, together with
shortened life expectancy.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

not make it daily eating. Vegetables, fruit, health bread, nuts and raisins in
your daily diet can be just as enjoyable as rushing to buy junk food, don't you
think?<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">

articles. I use a variety of subjects as my topics. Being well travelled has
enabled me to see many sides of life. Meeting interesting people has given me
an insight into their ways of life and the various conditions under which they
live. Life is one big collection of inspiration.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

preventing diseases related to calcium deficiency such as arthritis and other
bone related diseases.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 18.0pt; margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Losing weight is no easy task, but there are some things that can make it less challenging for you. Your doctor is an excellent source of general advice and the fact that he knows you and your medical history puts him in a very advantageous position to advise you! Use the following article to learn how to make the most of your relationship with your physician when you're trying to lose weight.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
1. What should I not be eating? Ask your doctor straight out for a list of foods you need to avoid. If it's anything with sodium, stop buying chips! If he tells you to cut back on foods that raise your bad cholesterol, look on the labels before placing anything in your shopping cart. Different ingredients can have a big impact on your weight, even if you've cut out calories so ask your doctor for an in-depth answer and take notes!</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
2. What are the best exercises for me? Most people with a weight problem need to start out slowly with exercise and work their way up; what about you? Does your doctor think aerobics is the best way for you to go? Did he tell you weight lifting may not be suitable for your joint health? Maybe he has specific recommendations for you like swimming, jogging or yoga. Listen up and follow his advice.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
3. How many calories should I be consuming? This is a confusing point for most people and with good reasons: conflicting information! Get the number straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak, and live by this number. Of course, minor variation is acceptable, but overall, you want to aim for that specific number of calories every single day.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
4. What exactly is my ideal weight? Again, with conflicting information, this exact number can be difficult to ascertain, however; your doctor knows best! Your actual optimum weight may vary due to specific circumstances which he can factor in. Don't listen to what a fashion magazine tells you or the woman in the office cubicle next to yours; heed your doctor's words of wisdom.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
5. How much weight can I safely lose each week? Most people lose more in the first few weeks of a weight management program, then gradually drop off in the amount they lose thereafter. Ask your doctor for specific numbers and how you can improve them with improved diet and more vigorous exercises as you go along. Stick with his numbers, no matter how tempting it may be to crash-diet or skip meals; stay within the healthy guidelines.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
6. What else is influencing my weight, such as hormones or medicine? Any number of medical conditions or stages in life can pack the pounds on faster and make it harder to lose them. Are you experiencing a lot of stress in your life? Not sleeping well or taking medications that contribute to weight gain? Perhaps you've had a baby in the past year or are approaching menopause. <br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Our entire country is facing a problem that only 100 years ago was unheard of, obesity. We have such vast quantities of food in this country that we can eat more than our body needs and boy have we been eating. It is not all our fault though, there are companies that make great tasting foods. These foods taste good and may be cheap but they have no nutritional benefits.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
The human body has developed fat as a way to survive during famines in ancient times but now there are no food shortages, at least here in this country. To combat our growing waistlines there are all sorts of weight loss programs being touted as the greatest weight loss plan out there. If you tried some of these current plans or those in the past they usually have some type of gimmick involved and really do not offer you long term results that are sustainable.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
In order to drop the extra pounds you need to exercise more and eat more fruits and vegetables. The nutrients and vitamins in fruits and vegetables will make us look an feel great but most of us simply do not eat enough food to realize the benefit of it. When you do eat these fruits or at least the juices your body will react in a variety of positive ways, first it will help regulate your blood sugar so you will not feel tired midway through the day. Also you will not feel hungry all the time since your body is getting the nutrition it needs.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
You might wonder why I am speaking about these juices and their benefits, they are part of any healthy diet. When trying to find diet that plans work you need to approach them with a healthy dose of skepticism. Look at the science behind the plan to find out whether the concept makes sense or does it seem to phony.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
There must be a scientific case made for the diet plan that proves it is not only valid but effective. If there is no clinical reports attesting to the benefits of a diet then you should not even consider using it.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Some people try all the new diets as they come out and that could be putting a huge amount of strain on your body. It would be prudent to speak with your doctor before starting any sort of weight loss program, you could have diabetes or something other condition that needs constant medical observation. Losing weight is an attainable goal if you equip yourself with knowledge and follow diets that work.</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Balance exercises are incredibly useful for individuals of all ages in all activity levels. Balance training is imperative for athletes to incorporate into their work out regime in order to maximize their performance in every game.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Additionally, stability exercises are useful for the older generation of individuals over the age of 60 years old who need to improve balance and reduce the risk of falling and injuring themselves. Furthermore, equilibrium exercises can benefit individuals who struggle with orthopedic or medical conditions that negatively influence their balance such as:</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
-numbness in the feet from diabetes or peripheral neuropathy</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
-chronic dizziness or lightheadedness from inner ear issues or medication</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
-stiffness in the ankles secondary to chronic ankle sprains</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
-lower extremity weakness of trunk generalized aging or joint arthritis</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
-one-sided weakness or paralysis from a stroke</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
All of these medical conditions can diminish balance abilities and lead to a greater risk for falling.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Balance Exercises Help Improve Your Stability Index</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
One of the key components of balance exercises and balance training is appropriate weight shifting at the feet and ankles. Our body responds to changing balance needs via moving about the feet and ankles, which realigns our body weight over our base of support. Physical Therapists develop exercise programs for their patients that help to restore normal movement and control of the balance reactions at the ankles. Physical Therapists define the stability index as the percentage of the base of support over which the patients can move their center of pressure (COP) during weight shifting without loss of balance. </div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
In this example, weight shifting would involve a person being able to lean side to side and forwards and backwards over their feet in a controlled and safe manner. A person's limits of stability is defined as the maximal distance that an individual can shift his or her weight in any direction without loss of balance. Normal limits of stability describe a theoretical cone extending around a person's feet, with a maximal displacement angle equal to 6 to 8 degrees to the front, 4 degrees to the back, and 8 degrees laterally to each side.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
With orthopedic or medical conditions such as a stroke, knee or hip arthritis or chronic ankle sprains, typically an individual decreases their limit of stability. With a smaller limit of stability the person is unable to control the body's weight shifting from side to side or forwards and backwards, thereby setting the person up for a greater risk for falling. Additionally, in physical therapy we commonly see older individuals presenting with a limited stability index secondary to natural aging issues of stiffness in the ankles, weakness in the legs and a greater fear of falling.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
These natural changes that accompany the aging process result in decreased balance abilities and a greater risk and incidence of falling. Consequently, balance exercises are extremely important for individuals with medical conditions or for older adults to practice on a daily basis to help improve their balance abilities, specifically increasing their limit of stability.</div>
</div>
<div id="article-resource" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Now, you can safely practice an excellent balance exercise routine that has been developed by an expert physical therapist in the comfort of your own home with the Exercise For Balance DVD. The DVD contains important information about the best balance and strength exercises needed to enhance improve your limits of stability, develop senior fitness and to perform basic activities like walking, standing, stair climbing. <div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
One of the most popular goals for women seeking to lose weight and gain muscle tone is to lose inches in the waist and thigh area. While women of all ages have these body shaping goals throughout their lives, it can be an especially strong desire for moms - especially new moms.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
While spot reducing fat is a bit of a myth, it's absolutely possible to target and tone specific areas for women. It doesn't take being super skinny to see results quickly, either. It takes work - it's not super easy - but it doesn't take special equipment or a gym, either. With some regular exercise and attention to diet, reducing fat and seeing more toned muscles in your abs and thighs is a goal you absolutely can achieve!</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
<b>How to Get Skinny Legs and Thighs Fast at Home</b></div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
1. <b>Exercise</b><br />
You didn't think I'd be able to leave out exercise as a way to improve the appearance of your legs, did you? The fact is this. Muscle burns fat faster than any other body tissue. So when you exercise, not only are you building your muscles, especially in your legs and thighs, but you're also helping your body burn fat more efficiently.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Exercise also builds your balance and flexibility - important things for women throughout our lives (especially after hormonal changes of mid life). Types of exercise you might consider are squats, lunges, or even something as fun as playing hop scotch with your kids! Exercise builds your strength, endurance and muscle tone - all things that are important to helping you lose unwanted fat and see muscle tone sooner.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
2. <b>Consider running for exercise</b><br />
If your knees aren't a problem, consider adding a running component to your exercise routine. It's free, doesn't require a gym or weights, and it can be done virtually anywhere! Helping your body to boost your metabolism through raising your heart rate is a great way to help your body burn fat.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
There are a number of great apps out there to help you develop a running program if you've never run before or haven't run recently.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
3. <b>Want to appear skinnier? Improve your posture!</b><br />
While it's not technically reducing your legs or thighs, if you improve your posture, it will make you look overall healthier and slimmer. Your mom was right about that! One trick for helping you to improve your posture is to imagine a string in the middle of your head, going up to the sky. Not sure why, but it works!</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
These are just a few tips and tricks for helping your body appear leaner, especially in your legs and thighs. What are your favorite ways of tightening, toning and firming your problem areas?</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
When new technologies come out they tend to submit themselves to a time honoured system. They're created, we buy them, we use them extensively to our utmost joy, our bodies collapse and they're redesigned to reduce ergonomic risks. Those of you able to remember the distant beginnings of desktops will recall similar developments taking place with the keyboard and mouse.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Tablets are the current issue, and they're currently being held to task for vastly increasing reports of back and neck pain in the public. The market share of tablets is increasing exponentially, and a few schools are even replacing pens and books with iPads in government-led programmes. With the rapidly increasing use (especially in the younger generation) of tablets, it's important to recognise the health risks.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Basically, you have to crane your neck to use your tablet. This isn't too bad in and of itself, plenty of products require this. You crane a little for your mobile phone, people will sometimes crane their neck to read a book. Unfortunately this effect is exaggerated in tablets. Books and phones are light enough to hold at an angle, and laptops are free standing. Considering the weight and expense of tablets users tend to lay them flat on the table, rather than aiming the screen towards them. This is terrible ergonomic practice, and it's no wonder certain back issues follow suit.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
On top of this, they're too functional. Obviously this is a great thing, they're amazing products capable of holding films, games, books and work. But when there's no reason to ever stop using a tablet, over-use naturally occurs.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
There's a few ways to avoid the major damage tablets can wreak on you. A study from Harvard got experienced tablet users to carry out simulated tasks on the machine, and noted particularly exaggerated strain on the next and back, especially in the conventional lap-held position. Yet the study found by changing position around once every fifteen minutes users could vastly reduce the potential strain of using the devices.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
One ideal way of cutting down on the health risks of the new technology is to grab a stand up case. If you can hold the tablet at it's ideal 30 degree angle your neck will have a much easier time. It's fine for watching films or playing games, and USB keyboards are always an easy option for getting work done.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Ultimately, there's no excuse for snapping your neck over a laid-flat tablet. The risks aren't rumoured anymore, but widely accepted. With over 50 million iPads in the market today and many more tablets from other manufacturers, it's important consumers take note of the ways to cut back on the strain.</div>
</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
The hourglass figure is one of the greatest trademarks of femininity and grace - not only does it stand for proportion and evenness, but it has also proven to be more attractive than out cup size. Also, a high waist-hip ratio is considered to be a sign of fertility, thus men are attracted to this figure on biological grounds.<br />
<br />
Nevertheless, your desire of a small, defined waist may have nothing to do with attracting the opposite sex. I, for example, decided that I want to define my hourglass figure after I read <i>Gone With The Wind</i> and was introduced with Scarlett's corsets and petite figure. Nowadays, I believe the new Scarlett O'Hara is <i>Dita Von Teese</i> - her waist measures only 22 inches! Most of us may never reach this measurement, but we can at least try, can't we?</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
My mother once told me that you couldn't call yourself a real woman without knowing how it feels to diet. I laughed back then, but now, looking in retrospect, I have to agree. If you want to define your waist, you have to combine two major lifestyle changes: eat healthy and exercise. I know, you are probably sick of reading about exercising and are still hoping for a wonder-solution which will tone your muscles and define your curves without you having to lift a finger, but sadly, we are still looking for the fountain of youth and there aren't too many signs that it'll show up any time soon.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
If you want to lose weight around your waist you should focus on working your transverse abdominal muscles. Pilates or yoga exercises will definitely do the trick. If you want to lose weight in your whole body, however, you can either go for classic jogging, which is known to burn up to 1000 calories a session, or for dancing. Combine dancing with aerobic and you get <i>zumba</i>, the new work-out trend. It's very important you start with easy exercises and you work your way to the difficult poses. Otherwise, you risk getting exhausted way too fast and abandoning your journey towards the ideal measurements. Attending group classes is also a good way to stay motivated.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Diet is as important as exercising: you can lose half a pound after running for 30 minutes and gain it back on if you eat a whole pizza once you get home. You don't have to make major changes in your current diet if you want to lose weight, unless it is based on fast food and other saturated fats. Try eating small meals rich in nutrients and fibers while gradually reducing rich dairy products, sweets, sodas and replacing them with low-fat dairy, fruits and tea.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Most importantly, try not to think of it as something temporary and change your lifestyle instead. Eating healthy products will make you feel rejuvenated and will boost your energy level. You can also try reading a self-help book if you feel you can't do it by yourself. Allen Carr's <i>Easyweigh to Lose Weight</i>, for example, can prove to be helpful, especially if you've recently quit smoking and are familiar with his name.</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Losing weight is difficult, we all know that, but putting it on sure is easy! Read over the following 10 ways we're putting it on and see if you can't relate, and then make the necessary changes that will help you drop a few pounds.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
1. Advertising. Not only do advertisers make bad food look really good, the label makes it seem like it's good for you too! Using phrases like "all natural" or "baked, not fried" on a bag of chips may ease your conscience, but it does nothing for your waistline.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
2. Stress. Our daily lives our filled with stress and unfortunately; we tend to eat more of our daily bread because of it. Stress also creates a significant imbalance with your hormones and that will drive you straight to the fridge every time.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
3. The microwave! The convenience of modern food is irresistible, but the ingredients in most of it only contribute to the national weight problem and probably yours. Why go through all of the trouble to produce a healthy, well-balanced meal when you can get one out of the microwave in six minutes or less?</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
4. Time. One of the most popular excuses for weight gain is not having the time to eat right, be it because of work, school or all the errands one has to run. Today's society is constantly on the move and too busy to put healthy food on a plate, so they take wrapped up in a sesame seed bun or crunchy, deep-fried taco shell!</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
5. Money. The costs associated with eating high-quality organic food is outrageous and beyond the means of the average American family. This is a national tragedy on all levels: people who are poor don't eat well, their health suffers and they have no insurance to take them to the doctor's office.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
6. Psychology. Most of us are conditioned to reach for comfort foods under different psychological circumstances, adding to our waistlines in unbelievable numbers. People lean on food in the worst ways and that makes weight loss doubly challenging!</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
7. Habit. Believe it or not, some people don't even realize they're eating! Reaching for a snack is such an integrated part of our existence that we do it without a second thought, ignoring all the fat, calories and sodium that lead to unhealthy weight gain and clogged-up arteries.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
8. Kids! Although this is a poor excuse for weight gain, it is understandable: you feed your kids mac and cheese or chicken nuggets and don't take the time to fix yourself a salad or other decent meal. Millions of moms and dads do it every day and it shows!</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
9. The Internet? Try eating a well-balanced meal in front of your computer, it's next to impossible! Absorbed in work, games or socializing, we have let the web become the focus of the meal and not the food. This obviously leads to poor choices and an abundance of unnecessary calories.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
10. The food pyramid. How many servings of vegetables are you supposed to be eating every day? Typically, it's an absurd amount that most people can't relate to. And how often does it change? The well-intended guidelines are confusing at best and usually impossible to incorporate into a realistic lifestyle.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
If this list reads like your life, take control. It's the only way you will ever lose that weight!</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Approaching weight loss doesn't have to be such a chore. Many people fail at losing weight because they don't incorporate the right strategies and techniques. There aren't any shortcuts, and you have to realize that you must work hard to achieve the results you're looking for. With the right knowledge, you can build a good plan for shedding those pounds. Keep reading to find out how with these great weight loss tips.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
One thing that you need to think about is the overall healthiness of what you're eating. Many people think they are eating healthier alternatives, but they aren't eating enough or the things they're eating aren't as healthy as they thought. Therefore, you must watch what you're doing, and make sure you're eating enough vegetables and fruits.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
You should also watch the types of portions you make for yourself. This is even harder when you're out to eat at restaurants. Restaurants are known for larger portions, and this can really just keep knocking you backward. You should instead portion your restaurant meal and ask for a "to go" box when the meal is delivered to your table. This makes it to where you can portion out what you're going to eat and save the rest for later. Of course restaurant food and much of what you can buy in a grocery store as far as processed food is not good for you all the time. Therefore, you really have to watch what you're buying, and you should always portion your meals.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
When it comes to portioning, you should also consider centering this around eating more times each day. You can eat much smaller meals more frequently throughout the day, many times like a snack, and this helps both your metabolism and your digestion. Breakfast is especially important when it comes to giving your metabolism and digestion a boost, as well as your brain. Start yourself with a healthy breakfast each morning to ensure that you have the energy you need.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
You need to make sure that you get enough sleep each and every night. This will help you give your body a chance to rest and catch up with itself. When you sleep, it's best that you sleep on your right side for digestion and comfort purposes.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Getting plenty of daily exercise is highly important when it comes to your daily routine. You have to be sure that you're working off those calories and keeping all of your vital organs functioning normally. Exercise improves circulation, and it invigorates you. Losing weight requires a mandatory and structured exercise regimen.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Make sure you're not eating late at night. Try setting a cutoff for around 7 at night. This is ideal so that your body has a chance to shut down and not be sitting with a full stomach while you're laying in bed.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Getting serious about losing weight not only requires that right motivation and discipline but also the right structure and knowledge. Use the tips that have been given to you so that you can start losing those extra pounds today.</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Can you lose weight and still eat foods that contain fat? Sure you can, if they are foods and ingredients that contain the "good" fat. Do they taste as good as the "bad" fats? In many cases, even better! And this is coming from a die-hard southern food addict.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
First, let's group them. There are basically two good groups and two bad groups. The two bad groups are saturated fats and trans fats. The two good groups are monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats. Within each of these four groups, there is a large selection of foods and ingredients. Can you take some guesses as to what might fall into each category? Not much of a stretch here, really.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Momma's biscuits were the best tasting because she made them with good old lard. And one of them had more fat and calories than most folks can burn off in a day. Lard has saturated fat. So does ice cream, butter and red meat. Potato chips and fried chicken are loaded with trans fats. On the good side, olive oil, canola oil, most nuts and peanut butter contain monounsaturated fats while corn oil, trout, walnuts and tuna are examples of polyunsaturated fats.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Now, I will be the first to argue that there is a right way and a wrong way to make homemade biscuits, which is why I can't have any if I intend to lose any weight. Shame! However, cooking with olive oil, eating more nuts, eating more fish (not fried) and eating less red meat I can handle. And, if you take a look at all the good choices you have and start making incremental changes, the transition is barely noticeable and in many cases preferable. I now would much rather cook with olive oil than any other oil because, to me, everything tastes better.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
But, how does healthy fats and weight loss actually work. Truthfully, only as well as you manage the calories that they contain. Remember, it's all about the calories consumed versus the calories expended. Foods containing any of these "good" fats usually contain more calories than fruits and vegetables. Therefore, don't expect to sit back with a sack full of cashews as a dietary supplement.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
The good news is that switching out most of the things in the bad groups for things in the good groups is not very radical if you cook quite a bit at home. Good recipes are endless. The problem comes when you either don't cook or you are on the road much of the time and your dining choices are limited. Unless you are in a large metropolitan area, healthy eating establishments are far and few between. However, even most chains now offer something that should fit within your dietary parameters.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Eliminating fat from your diet is not really part of a healthy weight loss plan, in my opinion. Healthy fats and weight loss actually go together. Cutting out the bad fats and replacing them with good fats should be the goal. If you cook, start looking at what I call "clean" recipes that use good oils and ingredients and have a calorie count included. Above all else, remember that change takes time. So, don't get frustrated. Be happy!</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Healthy living is something most of seek. Many of us already exercise and try to eat right, and that is a great start to healthier living. Here are two great tips that will take you to a new level of healthy.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
#1 Take Your Vitamins</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Every day you should take a multivitamin and mineral supplement. Eating health is essential but we don't always get everything we need from our foods, and so taking a daily multivitamin makes sense. Research has shown that when you use good quality nutritional supplements it can help you in achieving optimal health.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
A recent study by Wyeth Consumer Health found that older adults taking a daily multivitamin was an inexpensive but powerful way to stay healthy. The group also studied the how taking a multivitamins affected five diseases: diabetes, coronary artery disease, prostate cancer, osteoporosis, and colorectal cancer.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
The researchers estimated that giving a daily multivitamin to the elderly potentially save in health care cost of approximately $1.6 billion in a five year period, as well as avoidable hospitalization for heart attacks of approximately $2.4 billion.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
#2 Take the Time to Connect With Others</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
We are social beings by our very nature. We create families, nurture our young, and identify ourselves with social groups we are part of. Connection with others and forming important bonds of communication, spiritual health, intimacy, and emotional well being are as important as eating a healthy diet, when it comes to nourishing our bodies.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
The world we live in connects us in so many different ways at a technical level. However, the closeness we find with people in our day-to-day lives is actually diminishing. Many spend their days surrounded by people but little communication occurs, and there are many feel isolated.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Physical touch is very important, and you cannot get that from your cyber friends. Studies dating back to the 1930s showed infants who are touched grow faster than those who just left lying in the cribs. Being touched affects our brains and our nervous system.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
That's just two great tips that many people are not aware of that can a major role in improving your life and longevity. When it comes to your health, always think outside the box. While nutrition and exercise are two very important components to healthier living, there are many other things that can ensure you remain healthy now and for years to come.</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Out of shape? Overweight? Believe it or not, it's far easier than you may think to get back into shape... and not just a slight improvement, but to start feeling good again and to sleep better, have more energy and start enjoying a more active lifestyle.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Here's my story on how I did it. I'm age 62 and I've been in pretty good shape for most of my life, not an athlete by any means, but always active and healthy. Anyway a few years ago I was seriously injured in an accident and I never fully recovered.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
In spite of over a year of daily physical therapy and countless Cortisone shots, I was unable to lift my right hand above my ear. With near-constant back pain, I had difficulty in doing even the most of simple tasks; like washing my hair, tucking in a shirt or threading a belt through the belt loops on my pants was nearly impossible for me to do.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
As a result, I became discouraged, lethargic and depressed... and to make matters worse, I got into eating more for pleasure and taste than eating healthy nutritious meals; and of course I ended up with the inevitable side effect of rapid and serious weight gain.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Needless to say, it was a downward spiral and before I realized it, I was really out of shape and 45 pounds overweight.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
But then a funny thing happened... I found an old photo of when I was much younger and in good shape. And as I looked at it and thought about it, I remembered how much I enjoyed my active lifestyle back then and the pleasure that I got from riding a bike, hiking in the hills, swimming and exercising.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
So I did what had seemed impossible... I started walking more & more on a daily basis; and then I even dusted off the cobwebs and dead leaves off a set of barbells and dumb bells that had been sitting outside (and unused) for several years... and started working out with my weights again.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Now to be quite honest, the next day after working out I was pretty sore and stiff... but, and this may sound strange, it felt good. I had used and stretched muscles that had been inactive for a long time... and they were definitely letting me know about it.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Well, to make a long story short, this was a major turning point in my life. Inspired by the fact that I had pushed myself to the point of actually feeling endorphins surge through my body, I gave my aching muscles a day off to recover (as all Pro Trainers will tell you to do) but then I went back the following day to do battle with gravity by lifting those weights again.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
And I've been doing it on a regular basis ever since. The results? I've gained well over two full inches on my biceps; nearly three inches in my chest and I've lost two inches around my waist!</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
I hadn't noticed that I'd gained so much muscle until the weather warmed up and I put on a shirt that had fit me last year; but now (to my surprise & delight) it is way too tight in the arms and chest!</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
As a result, greatly encouraged by what I had thought would take me years to achieve (yet only took a few months), I'm now watching my diet, eating better and really enjoying the road to getting back into great shape and good health.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">

In the advent of increasing numbers of people suffering from lifestyle diseases associated with weight, health experts are running campaigns on weight loss as a preventive measure to some of the life threatening diseases such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Many have joined fitness centers and others opt to enroll in weight loss programs, all in a bid to lose weight. For some however, even diet pills have proven ineffective. <strong>What is sleeve gastrectomy?</strong></div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
This surgical weight loss procedure ensures that you limit your food intake, because you feel fuller much faster. With this restrictive surgery, a vertical gastric sleeve is created in the stomach, while the rest of it is removed. This leaves you with a banana-size stomach pocket. This procedure has exuded good reviews, since people who have undergone it have shown significant weight loss, coupled with various health improvements.</div>

<strong>Benefits of the procedure</strong></div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
With the various weight loss surgeries, the quality of life and health are what many speak of enjoying, together, of course with a new look which is brought about by the weight loss. This procedure carries with it benefits, among which include:</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
· <strong>Short hospital stays</strong> - Laparoscopic technique is mainly used to perform sleeve gastrectomy surgery. This means that the procedure is short, and you will have a short stay at the hospital. You will also experience less pain, as the scars you will get from the surgery done with laparoscopic technique, are smaller. This also facilitates faster healing and recovery, as compares to what would be the case in open surgeries.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
· <strong>Saving on cash</strong> - Sleeve gastrectomy saves you some money. Weight related diseases are usually costly to treat. High cholesterol and type 2 diabetes will cost you money, as they require drugs and doctors' visits to manage them. Having this surgery will only require a onetime cost, and the rest is just an effort to maintain the new look.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
· <strong>Reduced cravings</strong> - Clinical studies have shown that with a gastric sleeve, the craving for sweets drops by a long shot. Also, there is noted a reduction in the level of ghrelin, a hormone which regulates hunger.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
· <strong>Improved quality of life</strong> - Many consider bariatric surgeries such as gastric sleeve surgeries as a ticket to a second lease of life. The patients have acquired high self-esteem, most willing to have more time to do physical activities. These patients later on become more productive, since they feel better to work hard and improve on their economic opportunities.</div>

<br />
<div id="article-content" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px;">
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Several months ago I started on a diet that changed my world both physically and mentally it was called the herbalife advantage program.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
I did not know it then but looking back on that experience changed the way that I think about weight loss.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Many people think that when you start a diet that it's all about looking good and getting in the shape you've always wanted but for me it was different; I started the diet because I literally felt like crap all the time.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
You see I've had a fast metabolism all my life and could always really just eat what I wanted and never gain weight but then my bad eating habits started to catch up with me I realized that diets aren't just about losing weight; they are about being healthy, and sleeping better, and having more energy to do the things you want to do.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
And so the physical reason for my dieting became about my friends, and my family, and my involvement in the community; In truth my physical reason for dieting became focused not on myself but on how I affected the people around me and I realized that a diet change was necessary for me to be in their lives for very long.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
And so this is what I did to make myself more active.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
First I made a status on my Facebook to say that I was going to be more active; It sounds so simple but it's probably the most important step because then the whole world would hold me accountable to my statement or at least my small group of friends would. And the great thing is that they not only held me accountable but also encouraged me to do what I said I would do.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
The next step was to get involved in my community this was probably the hardest step mainly because my community is so small and also because they aren't very active either so I had to get out of my little town and start going to neighboring cities to be involved and volunteering all the while trying to be more healthy in my own eating habits, and also in my activities.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Step Three; The Personal Statement.<br />The last step I made was to make a private proclamation to myself that I would be healthier and to do this I used notepad on my laptop computer to make over thirty copies of a page that said in the biggest font I could write "I Will Be Healthy" and I taped it on every wall in my house simply because when I was at home I was the weakest, and I needed that reminder keeping me on track everywhere I went.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
These three steps are your personal key not only to losing weight, but to do anything you want to do. Dieting is not the answer and being active is not the answer either, but one healthy balanced diet plus an active life almost always equals weight loss and incredible energy and in addition it will put your energy to good use.</div>
<div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px;">
Stop dieting and start living healthy and you won't regret it.</div>
